| 备注 |
The P#56 series ran from 2005 through 2011, a period during which Malawi was operating under severe IMF-monitored fiscal constraints following years of drought-related budget deficits and donor aid dependency. The 500 Kwacha was the highest denomination in circulation for most of this run, which in practical terms meant it bore the brunt of inflationary pressure — by the early 2010s, 500 Kwacha had lost a significant fraction of its real purchasing power compared to its 2005 equivalent.
De La Rue's production for Malawi during this period was unremarkable technically, with watermark security only — no security thread, no color-shifting ink. Notably thin protection for a top-denomination note.
