| Opmerkingen |
The 500 Kwacha is the highest denomination in Malawi's current polymer-era cotton paper series and was introduced as the country's Reserve Bank worked to consolidate a note range battered by years of severe kwacha depreciation — by 2012, inflation had eroded lower denominations to near irrelevance in everyday transactions. De La Rue's Gateshead facility has long handled Malawi's security printing, a relationship stretching back decades through multiple currency reforms.
The P#66 series ran across several dated issues within the 2014–2021 window, with individual print dates distinguishing scarcer from more common examples within the type.
