| Reverse description | Blue-toned polymer note with two Galápagos giant tortoises in close contact at centre, against a rocky shoreline background. An intaglio-style engraved portrait of Charles Darwin occupies the lower left, rendered in fine line work. Neither the "Oficina Intercambiara de Ultramar del Antartico" nor the 500 Nuevos Sucres denomination corresponds to any documented issuing authority or monetary system. Ecuador retired the sucre entirely in 2000 when it dollarized. No successor currency using that name was authorized. The designer and engraver credits here are unverifiable against any known production house or government contract.
This appears to be a fantasy or novelty piece with no legitimate monetary provenance.
