| Obverse description | At right, a traditional Maldivian dhow under sail is rendered in intaglio against a multicolour guilloche underprint, while a large conch shell vignette occupies the left field amid ornate decorative scrollwork. The denomination numeral 500 appears in the upper left corner alongside Thaana script inscriptions identifying the issuing authority. Date and authority text are repeated in both Thaana script and Arabic numerals across the centre of the note. |
