Indonesia's 1960 series was produced through a split printing arrangement: De La Rue handled the intaglio work in London, while Pertjetakan Kebajoran completed the notes in Jakarta — an arrangement reflecting the Sukarno government's push toward domestic industrial participation without yet having the full technical infrastructure to print high-security currency independently. Kebayoran's role was genuine production, not merely overprinting.
The watermark remains the primary security feature, modest by international standards of the period but consistent with the series throughout.
