| Descrizione del dritto | Central field features the official emblem of the Bank of Mongolia — the Soyombo symbol surmounting a stylised ornamental cartouche with the inscription 'Mongol Bank' rendered in flowing Latin script — flanked on either side by the Mongolian traditional script (Uyghurjin) legend. The denomination '500' appears in large numerals below the central emblem, with 'ТӨГРӨГ' inscribed beneath in Cyrillic characters. Along the lower rim the legend 'MONGOLIA 1oz .999 SILVER' is incused in Latin capitals. The coin exhibits an antique finish with a toothed decorative border encircling the entire obverse field. |

Sinraptor dongi, the theropod this coin commemorates, was described in 1994 from material excavated in the Junggar Basin of Xinjiang — technically Chinese territory, which makes Mongolia's decision to issue the coin a mild geographic curiosity. The species is nonetheless closely associated with the broader Late Jurassic faunal assemblages of Central Asia that Mongolian paleontology has done much to illuminate.
Part of a wider Bank of Mongolia series pairing prehistoric subjects with colorized or shaped planchet treatments popular with the thematic collector market in the late 2010s.
