| Reverse description | A group of three Siberian tigers (Panthera tigris altaica) dominates the field: a large silver-toned adult tiger is depicted in high relief in the upper portion, gazing to the right, while two colorized juvenile tigers rendered in orange, black, and white polychrome enamel occupy the lower central portion, facing the viewer frontally. The Latin species name PANTHERA TIGRIS ALTAICA is inscribed along the right side of the field in incuse lettering, and the date 1996 appears in the exergue. The contrast between the frosted silver adult and the vividly colored cubs creates a striking wildlife composition typical of late 20th-century commemorative coinage. |
