| 表面の説明 | Central field displays the Serbian coat of arms — a crowned double-headed eagle bearing a shield charged with a cross and four firesteels — flanked on either side by a standing winged angel figure as supporters. The legend ДРЖАВА СКОРДИСКА appears in two lines across the upper field in bold Cyrillic characters, with the denomination legend ПЕТ ХИЉАДА ДИНАРА inscribed in two lines across the lower field. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background, consistent with proof striking. |

The Scordisci were a Celtic tribe who settled the confluence of the Sava, Danube, and Morava rivers after the failed Galatian invasion of Greece in 279 BC, eventually becoming one of the most militarily capable groups in the central Balkans. Rome spent the better part of a century subduing them, with campaigns running from the 140s BC through to their final defeat under Minucius Rufus around 106 BC. Serbia has issued several coins in this series honoring ancient peoples of its territory — the Scordisci entry is notable for commemorating a culture that predates the Slavic settlement of the region by roughly eight centuries.
