Obverse description Printed in green and brown, the obverse carries a portrait vignette of Andreas Vesalius at center right, rendered in intaglio. At left, an allegorical figure of an angel bearing a shield and sword triumphs over evil, serving as the principal decorative vignette. The face bears bilingual inscriptions in French identifying the issuing authority and the denomination, with a legal warning against counterfeiting under Article 173 of the Penal Code.
