| Obverse description | The obverse, struck in the form of a four-leaf clover, bears the Gabonese coat of arms at centre, supported by two leopards rampant flanking a shield charged with a sailing vessel, with a vertical band of three discs in chief. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arcs above the arms, while the denomination 5000 FRANCS CFA appears in the lower field. The fineness mark 999/1000 FINE GOLD is inscribed to the right of the arms, and the SCM mint mark appears to the lower left. The motto UNION TRAVAIL JUSTICE and the additional legend UNITI PROGREDIEMUR are also present in the field. |
