Opmerkingen

The "Spanish value on reverse" designation in the Pick catalog distinguishes this 1963 issue from an otherwise near-identical type where the denomination is rendered in Guaraní — a distinction that matters more than it might first appear, since Paraguay is one of the few countries where an indigenous language carries genuine official status alongside Spanish. The Guaraní-language variant was not a token gesture; both types circulated concurrently.

Three signature combinations are documented for P#202, reflecting successive appointments at the Banco Central across a short window of issue — the Colmán Villamayor/Romeo Acosta pairing alone appearing in two distinct serial number placements, which creates a useful sequencing marker for collectors working the series.
