The 5000 Kč denomination was the highest-value note in Czech circulation when this series was current, and its relatively low face value in purchasing terms meant it saw limited everyday use — more likely to appear in real estate transactions and bulk cash transfers than in ordinary commerce. That restricted handling pattern tends to keep survivors in considerably better condition than lower denominations from the same series.
Kulhánek's design work for Czech National Bank issues earned him genuine recognition among European banknote designers, and Ondráček's engraving on the obverse is among the more technically accomplished domestic Czech work of the 1990s.
