| 备注 |
Banco Nacional Ultramarino held a privileged position as the note-issuing bank for Portugal's overseas territories, and this 1909 emission reflects that. The 5000 Réis denomination sat at the upper end of everyday commerce — not a small-change note, not a reserve instrument, but the kind of value that moved serious goods and settled significant debts in colonial trade.
Bradbury Wilkinson printed for a remarkable range of colonial and quasi-colonial institutions in this period, and their London work consistently displayed tighter intaglio control than most Continental alternatives. P#32 is not a common survivor — BNU notes from this era circulated hard in environments that were rough on paper.
