Percetakan Kebayoran was among the earliest printing facilities operated domestically by an independent Indonesian government, and this 1958 issue reflects the ambition — and the limits — of that self-sufficiency. The 5000 Rupiah denomination was the highest value in the series, at a time when hyperinflationary pressure was already eroding the currency's purchasing power significantly.
The P#64 is one of the few notes from this period designed by a named Indonesian designer rather than contracted to European security printers. Junalies is rarely documented in philatelic literature, which makes attribution here genuinely unusual for the era.
