Perum Peruri — the Indonesian state security printer established in 1971 — had by 1980 developed enough in-house capability to produce this note entirely domestically, a meaningful shift from the earlier Bank Indonesia series that relied on European contractors. Al Roring's design credit is unusual in that Indonesian notes of this period rarely named individual designers in catalog records; his involvement is one of the better-documented attributions for a Peruri-era issue.
The single watermark security layer was typical of Peruri's early production runs, before the multi-feature security printing the facility adopted through the 1980s.
