| Reverse description | The reverse displays a printed design on reddish-brown cardboard, featuring a central circular medallion enclosing a bold cross with decorative foliate scrollwork in the four quarters, a device associated with the heraldry of Manresa. The date '1937' appears at the base of the central medallion. Surrounding the medallion, a circular legend reads '· CARTÓ · MONEDA D'OS PROVISIONALS ·' in the upper arc and '· MANRESA ·' in the lower arc, all rendered in a bold stencil-style typeface. |

Manresa issued its own emergency cardboard currency in 1937 as the Republican monetary system fragmented under wartime pressure. Dozens of Catalan municipalities did the same — local councils, anarchist collectives, and trade unions all printing scrip when metal coinage disappeared into hoarding and the war economy. The Ajuntament de Manresa's issues are among the better-documented municipal emissions from the period, catalogued extensively in specialized Civil War numismatics.
Cardboard deteriorates, which makes survivors in clean, unfolded condition genuinely scarce.
