Beschrijving keerzijde A frontal elephant head is depicted overlaid upon a detailed outline map of the African continent, occupying the copper-nickel centre field. Below the central motif, the denomination '6.000 CFA' and the series designation '4 AFRICA' are inscribed. The brass outer ring carries the French legend 'EMISSION HONORANT UN PRESIDENT AFRICAIN AU SERVICE DE SON PAYS' (meaning 'Issue honouring an African president in service of his country') running around the full circumference. A small decorative star appears at the base of the reverse legend.

Aanvullende informatie

The "4 Africa" series issued under the Africa Mint label occupies an odd corner of numismatics — these pieces were struck for the CEMAC region but circulated negligibly, functioning primarily as collectibles sold to the international market rather than as working currency. The 6000 Francs CFA denomination itself has no practical monetary equivalent in daily commerce, which tells you exactly what this piece was designed for.
