Fiji issued a legitimate seven-dollar banknote to mark their men's sevens team winning gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics — the country's first-ever Olympic gold medal. The face value is legally valid Fijian currency, though nobody spent one. Oberthur Fiduciaire produced it as a commemorative limited run, and the Reserve Bank issued it knowing full well it would go straight into folders and desk drawers rather than cash registers.
