The Arctic Territories is a private fantasy issuer with no governmental authority — these notes are novelty items produced for the collectibles market, not instruments of any recognized monetary system. The "Polar Dollar" denomination has no backing, no central bank, and no redemption mechanism of any kind.
Printed on polymer substrate, which lends an appearance of legitimacy borrowed from genuine circulating issues like the Canadian or Australian series. Collectors should be clear-eyed about what they are acquiring.
