| Reverse description | Host coin reverse of the Portuguese 800 Reis 1732 (KM#218), displaying the elaborate Portuguese royal arms: a crowned shield bearing the traditional quinas (five escutcheons arranged in a cross) and the bordure of castles, all set within an ornate baroque cartouche of scrolling foliate and floral decorative elements. The crowned shield is centrally positioned and occupies most of the field, with no additional legend on this side. The design reflects the baroque engraving style typical of the Lisbon Mint under João V, and the reverse details remain largely intact from the host coin. |
