| Beschrijving voorzijde | Horseman galloping to the right, armed with a lance couched forward and directed at a lion positioned to the right of the field, the beast depicted in the act of being speared. A Brahmi inscription appears behind the mounted figure, reading 'Palyab' in translation, serving as a royal or dynastic identifier. No tamgha or dynastic symbol is present in the field. The design follows the Central Asian hunting or warrior-king iconographic tradition, closely related to Sasanian-influenced coinage of the Hephthalite sphere. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat flat, consistent with the hammered copper coinage of the region and period. |
