| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare head of Augustus facing right, depicted in the Roman imperial portrait tradition. The effigy displays the characteristic Augustan physiognomy with a smooth, idealized profile. The Greek legend ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟϹ (Sebastos, the Greek equivalent of Augustus) is inscribed in the field to the right of the portrait. The flan is slightly irregular, typical of provincial bronze coinage of this period. |

Ceos, the Aegean island best known as the birthplace of Simonides, issued coins under Augustus with the ethnic abbreviated as ΚΗωΝ — a form attested on only a handful of bronze types from this period. RPC I 1300A is among the rarer entries in the Augustan provincial sequence for the Cyclades, with very few specimens recorded.
