Obverse description Bare head of Emperor Augustus facing right, rendered in a naturalistic Hellenistic-Roman portrait style with short, layered hair swept forward over the brow. The effigy is depicted without any diadem or laurel wreath, consistent with the bare-headed civic portrait type employed at Corinthian colonial issues. The portrait is contained within a plain, slightly irregular circular border with a dotted inner rim visible at the top of the flan. The legend AVGVSTVS CORINT is disposed in the field to the left and right of the bust.
