| Obverse description | Central field bearing the ruler's name and regnal titles in Arabic script, arranged in multiple lines within a roughly circular flan typical of hammered Crimean Khanate coinage. The legends are executed in a cursive Arabic hand characteristic of late medieval Islamic monetary tradition. The inscription identifying Ghazi III Giray occupies the majority of the die area, with auxiliary titles or honorifics disposed in the surrounding field. The irregular flan edges, a natural consequence of the hand-striking process, partially obscure portions of the marginal legend. |

Ghazi III Giray ruled the Khanate of Crimea intermittently — his reign was repeatedly interrupted by Ottoman-backed rivals, and he was deposed at least twice before dying around 1704. These tiny silver issues were struck at a period when the Crimean minting apparatus was thin and inconsistent, which accounts for the characteristically crude fabric seen across the type. KM#15 is among the lighter akches in the Giray series.
