Obverse description A stylised horse leaping to the right occupies the upper field, its head turned back over its body in a characteristic Late Iron Age artistic convention. A pellet is visible beneath the neck. Below the horse, within a recessed rectangular tablet or exergual panel, appears the abbreviated legend DV, rendered in the Latin alphabet and attributable to the tribal ruler Dubnovellaunos. The flan is irregular and of typical cast-and-struck hammered fabric for the period.
