Lopadusa — modern Lampedusa — sits roughly equidistant between Sicily and the North African coast, and its coinage reflects that ambiguity entirely. The island was sufficiently peripheral that its autonomous bronze issues remain poorly documented; no ancient literary source names a mint there, and attribution rests almost entirely on findspot evidence and iconographic parallels with neighboring Sicilian and Punic series.
Surviving specimens are rare enough that die studies remain incomplete.
