| Reverse description | Plain, uniface reverse with a smooth, featureless field showing only the natural texture and surface irregularities of the hammered tin planchet. No design, legend, or device is present on this side, consistent with the emergency coinage practice of Alkmaar during the siege of 1573, where expediency precluded the striking of a reverse type. Numerous scratches and flow marks are visible across the surface, testifying to the crude production methods and the base metal composition of the issue. |
