Obverse description Central field features a beaded inner circle enclosing a cross pattée with pellets in each angle, the whole surrounded by a radiating star or sun motif with triangular points extending toward the coin's edge. The design is executed in a primitive Romanesque style typical of 11th-century Pyrenean coinage. The surrounding field is irregular and the flan shows characteristic hammer-struck unevenness.
