Obverse description Schematic representation of a church facade or building, rendered in a highly stylized and primitive manner characteristic of 11th-century Swiss ecclesiastical coinage. The architectural motif is centrally placed within a roughly circular field, surrounded by degenerate pseudo-legends composed of imitative or meaningless letterforms that retain no legible inscription. The design is enclosed within a beaded or plain inner circle, and the overall execution reflects the crude engraving typical of abbatial hammered deniers of this period.
