| Obverse description | Diademed bust of Count Albert III facing left, rendered in crude Romanesque style typical of 11th-century feudal coinage. The count holds an upright banner or lance diagonally before him in the field to the left. A partial Latin legend surrounds the effigy, with letters distributed irregularly around the flan. The hammered flan is irregular and somewhat broad, with the design showing characteristic flat relief of the period. |
