The lettering is deeply struck in a bold, somewhat crude Romanesque style typical of mid-11th-century Low Countries ecclesiastical coinage. The irregular flan exhibits the characteristic uneven edges of hand-hammered medieval deniers. No figural motif is present; the entire design relies on the arrangement of capital letters filling the coin's surface. |
