Obverse description Central cross dividing the field into four quarters, each containing pellet ornaments; a stylized architectural motif — suggestive of a roofline above and a baseline below — flanks the upright arm of the cross, with additional ring or annulet devices to either side. A Latin legend encircles the entire design within a beaded border, characteristic of early medieval hammered coinage of the Salzburg archiepiscopal mint.
