Obverse description A heraldic lion passant facing left, rendered in a crude medieval style, occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle. The lion's body is depicted with stylized musculature typical of 13th-century Tirolean coinage. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the inner circle, reading MEINHARDUS COMES, identifying the issuing count. The overall design is characteristic of the hammered deniers produced in the Alpine region during the High Middle Ages.
