Obverse description Central architectural motif depicting a stylised church facade or gatehouse rendered in low relief, consisting of a triangular gabled superstructure above a rectangular portal frame enclosing a small cross patée in the central field. The design is arranged concentrically within a beaded inner border, with four pellets or annulets placed symmetrically in the surrounding field at the cardinal points. The overall composition is characteristic of Ottonian-era ecclesiastical coinage, executed in the rough hammered style typical of mid-eleventh-century Low Countries deniers.
