Abu Sa'id Bahadur Khan's coinage from 724 AH falls within the period of his reign when effective power was still contested by the amir Choban, whose influence over the young khan remained substantial until Choban's execution in 1327. The Album Type F classification distinguishes this issue within a sequence of administrative and epigraphic variants that shifted as the Ilkhanate's central authority fluctuated across its mints from Anatolia to Khurasan.
At 1.8g, this piece is notably light against the theoretical Ilkhanid dirham standard — not unusual for late issues from a polity whose fiscal infrastructure was visibly degrading by the 720s AH.
