The surrounding marginal legend includes the month name Sha'ban and the regnal year notation 'sene wahid ... sittami'a' (year six hundred and eighty), partially legible due to the irregular flan. The entire design is enclosed within a dotted or beaded inner border typical of Ilkhanid hammered silver coinage.
