| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers across the field, recording the mint name and regnal year. The legend reads in two principal lines, with the pious formula invoking perpetuity of the sultan's reign in the upper register and the mint city of Aleppo (Haleb) together with the Hijri date 1002 in the lower register. A dotted border circles the periphery, consistent with the obverse treatment. The script is rendered in a bold, angular Naskh hand characteristic of late sixteenth-century Ottoman provincial coinage. |
