| Obverse description | Three draped imperial figures standing facing, rendered in a schematic, imitative Byzantine style derived from Heraclian prototype coinage. The central figure, taller than the flanking attendants, stands prominently in the field with arms at sides. The two smaller flanking figures are depicted in a similarly frontal, hieratic posture. No legible inscription is present; the flat, granular field bears no border legend. The die-cutting is crude and characteristic of early Arab-Byzantine transitional issues. |

| Reverse description | Large Greek numeral M (denomination mark for 40 nummi) occupying the central field, surmounted by a monogram above. Imitative Greek lettering, degenerate and largely illegible, appears to either side of the M, derived from the conventional Byzantine mint and regnal year markings. A dotted border runs around the inner edge of the flan. The execution is crude, reflecting the transitional Arab-Byzantine workshop practice of imitating Byzantine follis types without full comprehension of the original legends. |
