Obverse description Two standing male figures shown in full face, each surmounted by a small cross above the head; a plain cross on steps or staff appears between the two figures in the central field. The figure to the left holds a long cross or staff, referencing the Byzantine imperial iconographic tradition from which this type derives. The composition reflects the transitional Arab-Byzantine style, retaining Christian imperial imagery under early Umayyad administration before the Arabisation reforms of Abd al-Malik.
