Obverse description Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator in high relief, depicted nimbate with a cross behind the head. Christ is shown in frontal view raising his right hand in a gesture of benediction, with the left hand holding the Gospels. The portrait is rendered in a crude Byzantine provincial style characteristic of Crusader-era coinage. The Greek supplication legend KE BOIΘH TANKRI (Lord help Tancred) appears in the field flanking the bust.

Reverse description Bold cross pattée centered in the field, dividing the reverse into four quadrants. The Greek Christogram IC XC NI KA (Jesus Christ conquers) is distributed one or two letters per quadrant, flanking the arms of the cross. The design follows the Byzantine numismatic tradition of the Christological victory formula, rendered in a characteristically rough hammered style with irregular flan edges typical of Crusader bronze issues from Antioch.
