Reverse description A large ducal crown dominates the upper portion of the field, rendered with a row of pearls along its base and stylized foliate ornaments above. Beneath the crown, the date 1561 is divided by the initial letter 'F' (for George Frederick I, Markgraf of Brandenburg-Ansbach and Duke of Jägerndorf), with '15' to the left and '61' to the right. The design is set on a plain, irregular flan with no surrounding legend.

Additional information

George Frederick I of Brandenburg-Ansbach administered Jägerndorf as part of the Hohenzollern inheritance in Silesia, a territory the dynasty held until Emperor Ferdinand II confiscated it in 1621 following the Protestant defeat at White Mountain — one of the more consequential acts of Bohemian Counter-Reformation politics. At 0.36 grams, these hellers were the smallest practical denomination in circulation, struck in enormous quantities and almost universally lost or discarded within a generation of minting.
