Beneath the crown, the date 1561 is divided by the initial letter 'F' (for George Frederick I, Markgraf of Brandenburg-Ansbach and Duke of Jägerndorf), with '15' to the left and '61' to the right. The design is set on a plain, irregular flan with no surrounding legend. |

George Frederick I of Brandenburg-Ansbach administered Jägerndorf as part of the Hohenzollern inheritance in Silesia, a territory the dynasty held until Emperor Ferdinand II confiscated it in 1621 following the Protestant defeat at White Mountain — one of the more consequential acts of Bohemian Counter-Reformation politics. At 0.36 grams, these hellers were the smallest practical denomination in circulation, struck in enormous quantities and almost universally lost or discarded within a generation of minting.
