| Obverse description | Central field features the Asomtavruli letter Ⴃ (initial of King Demetre's name), enclosed within a double circle. Arabic legend surrounds the central letter in four directions — above, below, to the right, and to the left — forming a bilingual Georgian-Arabic inscription. The entire design is further enclosed by an ornamental border of decorative elements. The overall composition reflects the mixed cultural and political symbolism characteristic of medieval Georgian royal coinage. |
