San Marino has no central bank and no independent currency — it uses the euro under a monetary agreement with the EU, which grants it a small annual allocation of euro coins but no banknotes. A 2025 paper note attributed to San Marino sits outside any recognized issuing framework and is almost certainly a souvenir or fantasy item, not a circulating or legally tendered instrument.
The Palazzo Pubblico itself has appeared on San Marinese euro coins since 2002. Its use here adds surface plausibility to what the catalog should flag as non-monetary.
