| Obverse lettering | R. WALKER'S No. 13 ½ ER PATENT |
| Reverse description | The reverse presents a complete mirror image of the obverse design, produced by striking through the planchet, resulting in all elements appearing in incuse and laterally reversed. The heraldic crown is visible in the centre in incuse relief, with the surrounding circular legend R. WALKER'S and the lower inscriptions NO. 13½, ER, and PATENT all reading in reverse. This characteristic reverse confirms the piece as a uniface patent die trial or press test, where the obverse die impression has been transferred through the metal to the opposite face. |
