| Obverse description | A heraldic crown occupies the upper central field, rendered in raised relief with beaded arches and a cross-pattée finial. Surrounding the crown in a circular legend along the periphery is the proprietary inscription R. WALKER'S, with the text NO. 13½ and the abbreviated mark ER appearing below the crown in the lower central field. The word PATENT completes the lower portion of the circular legend, confirming the token's status as a patent die specimen. The overall design is bold and utilitarian in character, consistent with mid-nineteenth-century British trade token practice. |
