| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field features a rosette device composed of a small cross pattée with pellets placed in each of the four angles between the arms, forming a cross-and-pellet arrangement enclosed within a raised solid inner circle. A circular legend in Roman capitals, naming the moneyer and mint, runs between the inner circle and the beaded outer border. The design is characteristic of the Cross/Rosette type struck at provincial mints under Æthelstan, with the pellet ornaments lending the type its name. The die-cutting is competent if slightly irregular, consistent with hammered provincial production of the period. |
