| 背面描述 | Reverse displays a central voided cross with a small annulet at its centre, flanked by groups of pellets in each quarter, forming the distinctive Annulet type layout. The moneyer's legend ALDE ǷINE M (Aldewine, moneyer) is distributed across the quarters of the cross in two lines, reading in the Anglo-Saxon tradition. The use of the runic Wynn character (Ƿ) in place of 'W' is characteristic of late Anglo-Saxon epigraphy. A beaded border frames the reverse, consistent with the obverse treatment and the broader hammered penny series of Eadgar's reign. |
