| Popis rubu | A small cross pattée occupies the centre of a plain inner circle, which is itself surrounded by an annular band bearing the moneyer's legend in Roman capitals. The reverse layout follows the standard Two-Line or Single-Cross type associated with the Crowned Bust coinage of Eadmund, with the moneyer's name and title distributed around the periphery. The flat, raised inner circle and simple central cross create a stark, functional design consistent with the austere aesthetic of mid-tenth-century English penny production. The lettering shows the characteristic angular forms and occasional ligatures of Anglo-Saxon die work. |
