正面描述 Stylized three-towered architectural facade, possibly representing a fortified gatehouse or city wall, rendered in a schematic Romanesque manner. A ring or annulet is depicted within the central archway. Flanking the architecture in the outer field is a pseudo-inscription or blundered legend, composed of imitation letters, contained between two concentric pearl circles. The design is characteristic of 12th-century Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage.

附加信息

Leopold III — later canonized in 1485 and adopted as patron saint of Austria — ruled during the investiture controversies that reshaped ecclesiastical authority across the Holy Roman Empire. His pfennigs belong to the broad bracteate-adjacent coinage tradition of the eastern march, where thin, irregularly struck silver was the practical currency of a frontier territory still consolidating its identity after the Babenberg margraves had held the mark for barely a century.

The CNA B10 classification places this among the earlier documented Babenberg issues with reasonable attribution confidence, though die linkage across the type remains difficult given the fragility of the flans.
